Medici Senza Frontiere condanna gli attacchi delle forze russe, che mettono in pericolo non solo la popolazione civile, ma anche la possibilità per i feriti di ricevere assistenza medica in Ucraina. Msf ribadisce ancora una volta che gli operatori sanitari e le strutture sanitarie in tutta l’Ucraina continuano a essere privi di protezione, operano sotto costante minaccia e sono sul punto di esaurire le risorse.
“Al buio, dai seminterrati e dal fondo delle scale, sentivamo i droni da combattimento russi volare su Kiev, dove il personale di Msf vive e lavora, senza sapere quale sarebbe stato il loro obiettivo, ma con la piena consapevolezza che, ancora una volta, sarebbero stati colpiti civili e infrastrutture civili – e così è stato” afferma Robin Meldrum, responsabile dei programmi di Msf in Ucraina. “È stata, ancora una volta, una giornata vissuta con sgomento e orrore. Le squadre di soccorso e le ambulanze devono estrarre le persone dalle macerie dei palazzi residenziali distrutti – e salvare la vita dei propri colleghi colpiti”.
I dati ufficiali finora confermano venti morti e almeno 86 feriti. Tra gli obiettivi c’era una stazione di ambulanze, dove sei membri del personale sono rimasti feriti: tre paramedici e tre autisti e tecnici.
L’attacco ha danneggiato anche un hotel e alcuni edifici residenziali. Le persone che dormivano sono rimaste intrappolate sotto le macerie. I servizi di emergenza stanno ancora cercando i morti e i feriti. Il sistema sanitario della città è stato sopraffatto: secondo fonti locali, 110 squadre di ambulanze stavano lavorando contemporaneamente per rispondere all’emergenza.
On the night of July 2 2026, the Russian military carried out yet another massive attack on Kyiv, where Médecins Sans Frontières staff live and work. Official reports so far confirm 20 deaths and at least 86 wounded have been reported. Among the targets was an ambulance station, where six personnel were injured: three paramedics and three driver-technicians.
The attack also damaged a hotel and residential buildings. People who were sleeping at night got trapped under the rubble. Emergency services are still searching for the dead and wounded. The city’s healthcare system was overwhelmed — there are reports that 110 ambulance crews were working simultaneously to respond to emergencies.
“In the dark, from basements and the bottom of stairwells, we heard the Russian jet drones passing overhead in central Kyiv, not knowing what they would target, but fully expecting that yet again civilians and civilian infrastructure would be hit – and they were”, says Robin Meldrum, Country Director for MSF in Ukraine. “We start a new day yet again with shock and horror – the idea that ambulance and emergency-response teams have to dig people out from the remains of destroyed residential blocks – and save the lives of their own colleagues who have been targeted.”
MSF once again emphasizes that medical workers and healthcare facilities throughout Ukraine remain unprotected, working under constant threat and on the verge of resource depletion. We condemn the attacks by Russian forces, which endanger not only the civilian population but also their ability to receive medical care after being wounded.
